Why your
support is so important
|
Hill
Country Memorial Hospital has been called one of the outstanding
rural medical facilities in the nation, yet it is not affiliated
with any major health corporation. It is a non-profit,
non-tax-supported medical center whose sole purpose is to provide
the best possible medical care to an eight-county area centered in
the Texas Hill Country. |

About
Hill Country Memorial Hospital Foundation |
|
Since 1989, the HCMH Foundation's
sole purpose has been to support the hospital through fund-raising efforts. It directs the investing and
distribution of all gifts for the exclusive benefit of the hospital and in accordance with the wishes of the donors. Such gifts are
tax-deductible as provided by law.
The HCMH Foundation is a 501(c)3

fund-raising efforts. To learn more about how your charitable contribution can
advance the quality and availability of health care services in Gillespie and

Your support plays a vital
role |
|
Government funding for hospitals has been in decline
since the 1960s, yet the cost
of providing medical services
has continued to rise.
Hospitals everywhere are struggling to maintain their financial health while
reimbursement from federal sources such as Medicare and Medicaid shrink below
the cost of care.
The Hill Country Memorial Hospital Foundation helps
bridge the financial gap by looking to outside sources of funding to assist in
expanding needed health care services.
One of the foundation's chief resources continues to be the very people who
built the original hospital in 1971: area residents.
Friends of Hill Country Memorial Hospital through their Annual Giving make tax
deductible gifts throughout the year to help support our patient care programs.

Where does the money go? |
|
Gifts go into the Hill Country
Memorial Hospital Foundation's unrestricted operating funds (unless otherwise
specified by the donor). These funds are allocated by the HCMH Foundation's
board of directors to:
> The General Fund that provides for new medical equipment and the expansion
and modernization of facilities for all programs and services
> The Endowment Fund which is a permanent fund to ensure the future of
health care for the hill country
> The Hospice Fund that defrays the cost of hospice care to patients and
families not funded by Medicaid, Medicare or insurance

The importance of
Annual Giving |
|
Although Annual Giving is only one
part of our fund-raising program, it is vital to Hill Country Memorial Hospital
for several reasons:
> It is immediately spendable
The HCMH Foundation can apply your gift to the need right away whether
it is donor restricted or left to the discretion of the board.
> It may be applied to the purchase of medical equipment
State-of-the-art medical equipment is needed to enhance the medical technology
and diagnostic capabilities available to the people of the Hill Country.
> It is a barometer of community support
The support of the community is an important measurement of Hill Country
Memorial Hospital's worthiness of philanthropy.
> Annual Giving is recurrent; it keeps coming back year after year

Why give? |
|
Access to health care, both
preventive and restorative, is essential to all people. It is only natural that
the people who can benefit from hospital services want to take the lead in
supporting their health care institution.
Your support will speak well of Hill Country Memorial Hospital and the
communities it serves, and the quality of health care that the hospital is able
to provide will in turn reflect favorably on you.
Why give? It's a thoughtful, responsible, satisfying thing to do. |
